Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and ProperMech ("we," "us") covering your use of the ProperMech and ProperMech Pro apps and websites (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.
What ProperMech is
ProperMech is a marketplace. We connect vehicle owners ("customers") with independent automotive service providers ("providers") — mechanics, tint, detailing, wraps, dent repair, and similar trades. Providers are independent businesses, not our employees or agents. The service work itself — its quality, timing, pricing, warranties, and completion — is an agreement between the customer and the provider.
Accounts
- You must be at least 18 to create an account and provide accurate information.
- You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away about any unauthorized use.
- We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, harm other users, or break the law.
Estimates, approvals, and payment
- Providers send estimates through the Service; customers approve or decline each line. An approved line is the customer's authorization for that work at that price.
- If a provider changes the price of an approved line, it returns for the customer's re-approval before it applies.
- Prices shown as a range (for example "$50–$100") are a starting range until the provider confirms an exact price.
- Payment for service work is currently made directly between customer and provider (cash, card, or however they agree). Where in-app payment or subscriptions are offered, additional terms and the payment partner's terms apply.
Provider subscriptions & founding offers
- Provider access may require a paid subscription. Current pricing is shown in the app or on our site before you pay.
- Founding-provider offers grant free time (for example, months of free access) — not a permanently locked price. Subscription pricing is the same for all providers at any given time and may change with notice as the platform grows.
- Subscriptions purchased through app stores renew and cancel per that store's rules.
Mobile jobs, addresses, and location
- For "comes to you" jobs, the customer's address is revealed only to the provider who accepts the job. Providers must use it solely to perform that job.
- A provider heading to a job may share their en-route position with that customer from departure until the job starts, controlled by the provider's device permissions.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, and text you upload. You give us a limited license to store, display, and transmit that content as needed to run the Service (for example, showing your issue photo to your provider, or a provider's video update to their customer). Don't upload content that's illegal, deceptive, or infringes anyone's rights.
Acceptable use
- No harassment, fraud, spam, scraping, or interfering with the Service.
- No off-platform circumvention designed to evade safety features or fees where in-app payment applies.
- Reviews must reflect genuine experiences.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee uninterrupted operation, and — because providers are independent — we don't warrant, endorse, or guarantee any provider's work, licensing, or insurance, or any customer's payment. Estimates, diagnostics (including AI-assisted tools), and pricing information are aids, not guarantees.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, ProperMech is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for disputes between customers and providers, including property damage or workmanship claims arising from service work. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Disputes between users
Work it out directly first — the job record (estimates, approvals, photos, videos, messages) exists to make that easier. We may, but aren't obligated to, assist in disputes.
Termination
You may stop using the Service or request account deletion anytime. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Venue for any dispute with us lies in the state or federal courts of Florida.
Changes
We may update these terms; we'll post the new effective date here and flag material changes in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept them.
